Here’s how it works:

  • All registered riders are assigned a Rider Number, and those numbers are ranked by how much you’ve raised. (See your ranking). Raise more = a better number.
  • 🕛 Numbers are locked in at midnight on Wednesday, June 17th. So there’s still time to climb the leaderboard and get a top spot
  • 📦 Mailing Packets?

Event Day PLANNING

Ways to Ride

Bike to the Beach offers four (4) methods to ride:

  • Solo (on a bike by yourself),
  • Tandem (on a bike with another person),
  • Relay (switching at ANY rest stop), or
  • Virtually (ride your distance anytime in a 7-day period).

Relay Option

Relay teams can participate in many different ways—there’s no fixed format and no minimum or maximum split required.

You can create a relay for any total distance (25, 50, or 100 miles) and divide it however works best for your team:

  • 2 riders can split the distance 50/50

  • 4 riders can each ride ¼ of the total distance

  • 10 riders can each ride 10 miles

  • Or design your own custom relay that fits your group

Relay teams are responsible for coordinating their rider exchanges and providing their own chase vehicles. The goal is simple: ride together, support each other, and get everyone to the finish line—your way.

Our virtual challenge starts the week before our event and is comprised of seven (7) daily, trackable challenges designed to be fun, engaging, and supportive of our cause. Each challenge participant will receive points for the actions taken. If the participant reaches 1,000 points, rides their goal distance (tracked by STRAVA) and raises $250, they will earn our custom Bike to the Beach jersey and finisher shirt.

Fully Stocked Rest Stops Along the Route

Refuel. Recharge. Keep Rolling.

Our rest stops are designed to keep you feeling strong, supported, and ready for the next stretch of road.

Located approximately every 15 miles (about every hour of riding), each stop gives you a chance to take a breath, hydrate, grab a snack, and reset before heading back out.

Here’s what you can expect at every stop:

  • 🥤 Water and hydration beverages
  • 🍌 Snacks and energy foods
  • 🥯 Breakfast items like bagels, muffins, and coffee at select early stops
  • 🍕 Lunch options such as pizza, sandwiches, or heartier fare at select later stops
  • 🧴 Sunscreen and basic personal supplies
  • 🩹 First-aid kits and med support items
  • 🚲 Mechanical and ride support nearby

But it’s more than just supplies-  it’s the people.

Many of our rest stops are staffed by volunteers from the community, including corporate teams, nonprofit partners, and local service providers who believe in our mission. They’re there to cheer you on, refill bottles, hand out snacks, and keep the energy high.

These stops often become some of the most memorable parts of the day – a place to connect, laugh, and feel the incredible community behind every mile you ride.

Because at Bike to the Beach, you’re never riding alone – support is always just a few miles away.

Know Someone Who Loves to Give Back?

Our rest stops are powered by the incredible people in our community. If you know someone who would like to volunteer on ride day, we’d love to have them join us. Visit our Volunteer page for more information — there are roles for everyone with a variety of time commitments, from a few hours to the full day.

Mechanical & Ride Support support

Bike to the Beach is designed to be a fully supported ride, so you can focus on the miles, the mission, and the experience – not the logistics.

From the moment you roll out in the morning until you cross the finish line, our team is there to make sure you’re safe, fueled, and confident on the road.

Here’s what that support looks like:

  • 🔧 Bike mechanics stationed along the route for quick fixes and adjustments

  • 🚗 SAG (Support & Gear) vehicles and chase cars if you need a lift or extra help

  • 🚑 Medical support teams for peace of mind

  • 🦺 Ride marshals and guides helping with navigation, safety, and encouragement

  • 🥤 Fully stocked rest stops with food, drinks, and volunteers cheering you on

Whether it’s a flat tire, a quick stretch break, or just someone to say “you’ve got this,” help is always nearby.

This isn’t a solo ride – it’s a community-powered experience built to support riders of all levels. First-timers and seasoned cyclists alike can show up knowing they’re covered every step of the way.

All you have to do is clip in and ride. We’ll take care of the rest.

Connecting to Support on Ride Day

This is a fully supported ride with mechanics, chase cars, medics and ride guides to support your journey.

We will include an Emergency Bracelet at the starting line with important phone numbers. Please wear this bracelet to ensure that you can reach ride support and basic first-aid care when it is needed.

CALL 911 for all actual medical emergencies.

Our logistics team prides itself on our support and response time. If at any point in the ride you need mechanical sup- port, call one of the provided phone numbers, and we will come assist you.

There are three levels of issues on ride day:

  • Minor issues: Flat tires and other small adjustments can typically be fixed in a few minutes on site.
  • Mid-Complexity issues: For wheel or brake issues, we
will commonly shuttle you to the next available rest
stop. This allows our professional team of mechanics
the space, time, and resources they need to work
    through your bike’s issues.
  • Major issues: For significant issues that arise on the ride, we may swap out your bike or exchange a part, putting you on our equipment so that you can continue the ride without having to stop. There is limited capacity to address major issues, but such issues will be addressed when possible.
  • Please ensure that you have tire irons, bike tubes, a CO2 cartridge or pump with you throughout the ride and that you start the ride on equipment that is ready for a long ride (i.e. – do not start the ride with tires with holes in them, etc.).
  • If you are starting at our 100-mile starting line, there will NOT be mechanic support at the starting line, so it is important that your bike is “ready-to-ride” when you start the event. The mechanic team will be positioned at the 1st rest stop and on the route. This policy ensures that we leave at the planned start time and our mechanic support team is able to support the riders on the road as soon as the event starts.

SAG Support

We have SAG (“Support and Gear”) vehicles along the route to assist you in any way needed. You will be given a BLUE bracelet with important numbers, including road support and EMS support.

Please ensure that you have tire irons, bike tubes, a CO2 cartridge or pump with you throughout the ride and that you start the ride on equipment that is ready for a long ride (i.e. – do not start the ride with tires with holes in them, etc.).

If you are starting at our 100-mile starting line, there will NOT be mechanic support at the starting line, so it is important that your bike is “ready-to-ride” when you start the event. The mechanic team will be positioned at the 1st rest stop and on the route. This policy ensures that we leave at the planned start time and our mechanic support team is able to support the riders on the road as soon as the event starts.

Bike Safely

When you Bike to the Beach, you’ll be riding on cycling-friendly roads, but you’ll share these roads with other cyclists, cars, and pedestrians. Cycling safely is essential because you’re navigating in the real world, where everyone’s awareness and respect for the rules keep everyone safe. As a cyclist, you have the same rights—and responsibilities—as drivers, so understanding the rules of the road is crucial. Brush up on hand signals, ride etiquette, and essential cycling safety tips with these helpful resources to ensure a smooth, safe, and enjoyable ride.

GETTING HOME FROM THE FINISH

We will offer bus transportation to take riders to each starting-line location after the event. Unlimited Biking will be providing transportation services for easy bike return. Transportation can be purchased at registration or added later.

FINISH LINE TRANSPORTATION DEADLINES

One busis available (with a stop at each starting line) at 4:00 pm on ride day. Buses will stop at the 25, 50, and 70 mile start-lines, as well. Please report to the bus loading area by 3:30 PM to ensure a timely departure.

Unlimited Biking is managing the bike transportation associated with the bus.

Bus transportation must be reserved and paid for online before midnight on June 5, 2026. The cost (which includes BOTH bus and bike transportation)is:

4/17/26

5/22/26

50,70,100-Mile Start

$50

$70

25 Mile Start

$30

$50

Ensuring the bus leaves on-time:

If you are scheduled to ride the bus, it is important to maintain a cycling pace that allows you to arrive by 3:30 PM. If you are unable to do so, you MUST contact ride support and arrange to be moved forward by one of our SAG vehicles.

This is your responsibility. We highly advise calling early in the ride, rather than later, if your pace will result in a finish time after 3:30 PM. For example, request a pickup to move from Rest Stop 4 to Rest Stop 6, so you can ride the last leg on your own, rather than riding to Rest Stop 5 and then being taken to the finish. To keep our SAG vehicles available on the road, we will have more SAG vehicles available for rest stop-to-rest stop transportation than for rest stop-to-finish-line transportation.

Bike Loading for Bus Transportation

Bikes will be transported in a truck that follows the bus. It is crucial to keep the bikes meant for bus transportation separate from those riders will take home on their own.

After completing your ride, hand your bike directly to the Unlimited Biking team. They will be managing the bike transportation service this year.

  • Ensure your bike is labeled with the correct information: Your name, Your start location, Your bus number
  • Placement of Bikes: Make sure your bike is placed in the designated area for loading onto the bus trucks. This step is critical for on-time departure and ensuring your bike returns with you.

BIKE PACKING AND PROTECTION

Bike to the Beach, in partnership with Unlimited Biking, will take every precaution to protect bikes during transportation, typically wrapping them in moving blankets and/or securing them to prevent movement.

Our team and volunteers handle your bike with care while loading and transporting it. If you’re concerned about potential scratches, we encourage you to bring extra packing materials to further protect or pack your bike yourself.

Please note that Bike to the Beach is NOT responsible for any damage to bikes or bike accessories incurred during transportation. We strongly recommend that you remove any accessories from your bike prior to loading.
